Since I work in Wilmington, De, I was able to catch the Friday night show in
Dover which was 45 minutes down the road from the store. At first I had my
doubts about the place which is primarily a racetrack with a small casino
added on, but the night turned out very well. The crowd was not as lively as
we are used to, but Tony and the band got them going!! I was expecting them
NOT to handle the "Whole Lotta Love" very well, and when it came
time for it, Tony even said he was going to have them do just a bit of it.
Well, not only did they go for it, but they ask for them to do "Old Time
Rock 'n' Roll" which was very well done. Got to visit a little bit after
with Tony, Jon, and the guys. The place wanted them to get going so they could
get going, and I had to get back to NJ. A great night. Next show for me is New
Year's Eve!

Hi Del,
Thanks for the great review. I'm glad you were able to go to the Dover show,
it sounds like it was another great one from Tony and his band. I bet it's
hard when a performer gets a less than enthusiastic crowd, but if anybody can
get them going, Tony can. Wow, next show, New Year's Eve. What a show that
will be!

Thanks for the review of the show Del. It is always interesting to hear how
the show is accepted in various parts of the country and how the different
crowds react to it. I know that New Year's Eve crowd will be a wild one!
Enjoy!

What a terrific time we had in Dover! I met Jo from New York in Atlantic City
and we headed off to Dover. We arrived around 3PM at the hotel to see the band
outside. They said hello and were on their way. We got ready for the show and
went to meet Debbie from PA for dinner. We had a great time and were then off
to the showroom. It was quite different then the usual place for Tony, but he
brought the house down. We had front row seats and Tony came out into the
audience later on and asked to use my chair for the New Years Eve part. He was
sweet to everyone. The show was terrific as only Tony can perform. We waited
around for awhile, but we got to visit with Tony after he signed autographs
and posed with everyone who had waited. What a generous and kind man he is! Jo
and Debbie and myself chatted with him for awhile and he signed autographs and
posed for pictures. He was so sweet and funny. We all had a wonderful time and
enjoyed meeting each other for the first time. Can't wait til next time.

A Week to Remember!!!

Hello Everyone!! It's very exciting for me to be here doing my first post for
TOAD and I cannot wait to chat with everyone! (please bear with me though, it's
a long one!) Here goes........
As this week came to a close, I was thinking there is just no way to put in
writing how much what has happened to me has meant to me. And being that
everything is still so brand new and that I'm still flying so high up in the
clouds, I just wanted to take a few moments to share it with all of you. In the
25+ years that I have been a fan of Tony's, never have I ever imagined that I
would be where I am today. In just four very short months, I have met some very
wonderful people, a few of which have become very, very special to me. Their
friendships I will treasure for the rest of my life. To this day, I firmly
believe in my heart that God has brought us together for a reason and I am so
very thankful that He did.
This week I was served with many miracles. I was given the opportunity to see
Tony perform THREE TIMES!! The shows at Westbury, NY were awesome and the grand
finale in Dover was even more terrific! With each performance, Tony added even
more songs. In Dover, he introduced a few new numbers, each one more amazing
than the other. The true miracle of it all though, was that at every show, I was
given the opportunity to share some very special moments with this great man. My
two little girls went up on stage to give Tony their roses at the first show
(something that I never got to experience at their age!!) At the second show, I
gave him just a very small token of my appreciation for all these wonderful
years by giving him a Yankee jersey with Orlando
#1 embroidered on back, and a Yankee cap, all wrapped up in a HUGE yellow bow.
It was a magical moment for me but none of which can ever top the pictures, the
autographs and all the wonderful conversations I was lucky enough to share with
this man. Never would I have thought this all could happen, I thank God that I
was given these fantastic opportunities in such a very short time.
The band that is with Tony now is not given enough credit. They are very
wonderful people, it was not only a pleasure talking with all of them, but their
performance is totally awesome. They are a true compliment to Tony and add so
much to each show.
I thank everyone here for listening and for giving me this chance to express
just a small amount of what I've been feeling since I first met Tony in AC this
past September and I hope to continue chatting with you all!
Best Regards,
JO

Hi Jo,
Welcome to the TOAD message board. Glad you joined us.
Wow! You have some wonderful memories of your time with Tony. Your excitement
and appreciation of the man and his music really shows in your post and I am
so happy for you! I'm sure you will treasure these memories for the rest of
your life and I hope you have many more opportunities to see him in concert
and to visit with him. He really appreciates his fans and it's nice when we
can meet him and show him how much we appreciate him in return. And of course,
when we can get photos and autographs to boot, it's pretty cool :).
Once again, welcome to the board and thanks for sharing your memories!

Jo--or should I say Lucky Jo!!! First of all, thanks for sharing your story
with everyone at Friends of TOAD.
I am sure you will be flying high for quite a while and what a wonderful way
to enter the Holiday Season! Not only do you have very special memories for
yourself, but also for your children as well. What a wonderful gift. However
you will probably have a hard time explaining in the future that they can't go
up on stage at every show they attend. Watch out the next time you take them
to the circus!
Your gift of the Yankee Jersey and cap was an inspired idea. Over the years I
have seen him receive a wide variety of gifts up on stage, but this was a
first. He'll have a hard time keeping this one away from his children! I'll
bet that we will also start seeing people in the showroom wearing Orlando #1
jerseys.
It has been wonderful for all friends of TOAD this past year to be able to see
Tony at many different venues across the Country. Branson's loss is a gain to
the rest of the Country and to TOAD fans everywhere!
We look forward to reading more of your posts in the future.
