Message:
I just returned from Joyce's and Pam's performance in Thousand Oaks. Billed as
Vincent and Vincent, they took the audience on a journey into the past through
music. They sang, a capella, a medley of Big Band songs--Sentimental Journey,
I've Got You Under My Skin, Satin Doll, Misty, They Can't Take That Away from
Me, The A Train and Chattanooga Choo-Choo and they just wowed the audience. They
finished the set with an accompanied version of I Believe I Can Fly and I could
feel myself being drawn into the song just like I had been countless times
before during a TOAD performance.
I haven't heard the ladies sing in six years and I can assure you that seeing
them again only makes me wish they were back on the road as well.
I did have an opportunity to speak with them both before and after the show.
They were pleased to hear that people are interested in what they are doing and
promised to provide more performance dates to the Friends of TOAD for posting.
Photos from the show will be posted on the domain soon.

By the way, fans of Telma Hopkins can see her Friday on a two-part repeat of "The Hughleys" which now airs on ABC on Friday nights. Telma also can be seen on the big screen in "The Wood," a delightful and positive coming of age film with an African-American point of view that is in theaters across the U.S. and Canada.
You go Telma! Keep racking up those impressive acting credits.
