Sunny Radio
Does anyone else have one of these stations in your area? www.sunny1045.com    Check to see. If not use this link to make requests for Tony Orlando and Tony Orlando & Dawn songs. Try to avoid the most common-Yellow Ribbon-Knock Three Times-Candida---so we can try to get them to play all the other hits so we can remind people just how many hits there were!  They play 60s/70s/80s hits-mostly what would have been Adult Contemporary the first time around so don't forget "Skybird", "Mornin' Beautiful", "Midnight Love Affair", "Sing" etc.

Joyce and Pam to perform at Harvelle's Tonight

Heads up for anyone looking for some Friday night fun.  Joyce and Pam will be performing in Santa Monica at Harvelle's tonight with the folks from Windy City Entertainment.  When they were there last month the place was packed and they had to rotate people out, so line up early if you want to be guaranteed a seat

Memories
Just stumbled on this site....what memories it has brought back. I still have all the albums, a bunch of scrapbooks, concert programs, photos over 30 years later. I remember my mom & dad driving several hours to take me to a couple of concerts when I was about 12 or 13. They liked TOAD also. I had many pen pals in the mid-seventies, we were all members of the fan club. We exchanged letters, friendship books, articles, that was so much fun I remember how I looked forward to the mail arriving. I can not imagine what it would have been like to have had email and VCRs then. A few years ago at my 20 year high school reunion one of my friends mentioned my "Tony" years. I am still a fan and always will be!

Tony Orlando show in Campbell, California

I attended my first Tony show, courtesy of a friend, in Campbell, California, on May 8th.  I had no idea what I was in store for.  I have to admit that I was expecting the Tony I remembered from the 70s to walk out and was surprised that he had aged, just as I had.  No portrait of Dorian Gray in his closet or mine, or any of that gross botox some of the stars get into.  Just a face with lots of character, like mine too J

He sang his major hits, some minor ones, and some songs he wrote too.  His band (sorry I can’t remember the name they had) were from where he now calls home in Missouri.  They were very good and they even got to sing a 4-part harmony song by the Gatlin Brothers.  It was good, but here in the Silicon Valley we’re not that much into country music, more akin to the one Tony sang about Puerto Rico.  A good up-tempo Latin beat.  He told some good stories about his new drummer, Michael Jackson.  No relation to the famous MJ but occasionally it gets them into situations when checking into hotels.

Toni Wine was also performing with him and sang one of her songs from the 70s.  Although Tony said she wrote and sang the Meow Mix commercial, I remember her voice from the AT&T commercials years ago:  Reach out, reach out and touch someone.

A good show is one that keeps the audience asking for more.  Although he said a few times they would stay, the show ended too early for me.  It was a good trip down memory lane and I hope to see Mr. Orlando back in the Bay Area more often.

Re:  Tony Orlando show in Campbell, California
You are right about the AT&T jingle.  I have a show on tape somewhere, where Toni & Tony appeared together.  I think it was in the early 80s and Ed McMahon hosted the show.  Glad you enjoyed the show and I agree, Tony has been gone far too long from the Bay Area, which once upon a time was a place where he frequently performed.  Too bad the Circle Star turned into condos years ago.
