For years when I lived in New Jersey I watched Tony
Orlando and Dawn I think it was every Saturday night. They were great and
what I liked about Tony Orlando was that he went into the audience and
always included them in his show. Tony is GREAT!!!!!. Telma and Joyce were
also fantastic. |

Joyce Vincent Wilson's "Witches Brew" |
| For over 20 years, I've
been searching in vain for a song that Joyce Vincent Wilson recorded as a
solo entitled, "Witches Brew". Joyce appeared on the Dinah Shore program and
sang the tune, and it was announced then that it would be released as a
single. I never located the song then and I can't find it now. I have
learned recently that the song appeared on a soundtrack of the movie called
"Witches Brew". The movie is long out of print and not available on DVD. I
have a friend of a friend trying to track down this record. If anyone here
has any information, no matter how small, please, please let me know. I'm
desperate to find this rare recording by the incredible Joyce Vincent
Wilson. I recently saw her (Sunday at Sunset Junction in LA) for the 2nd
time in person (in my life) and still didn't get to say a personal hello to
her. I would love to be able to tell her that I heard her record and that
I'm desperately trying to find it. Norman Fidel |

Re: Joyce Vincent Wilson's "Witches Brew" |
| Norman, your search is in vain. This was never released on single. This subject came up on the board in October 2002. Joyce has never heard the final version of the song. The only way to obtain a copy is to get the movie on VHS. It regularly pops up on eBay (especially around Halloween). Unfortunately, the song is used in the intro and there is voice over talk during some of the song and an abbreviated version plays with the credits. That is as close to a recorded version as exists. | |

Trying to get a hold of a record |
| My mother named me Juanita
after hearing the song, 'I didn't mean to love you so much Juanita' back in
1977 and had the record, however the record was damaged and she has been
trying for years to find a copy of it to no avail. I'm wondering if anyone
can help me in locating this for her as I know she would be so happy to have
it again. Thanks, Juanita |

Re: Trying to get a hold of a record |
| This song appears on Dawn's 2nd LP, What Are You Doing Sunday and was only released in Europe as a single in 1971. You can sometimes find the single on eBay and almost always that LP comes up on eBay as well. This LP was not too successful for the group in the states. As a matter of fact it only charted at #178, the lowest charting of any Dawn LP. | |

Re: Trying to get a hold of a record |
| "I Didn't Mean to Love You So Good Juanita" was on Dawn featuring Tony Orlando--Bell 6069 and the reissue Tony Orlando & Dawn II--Bell 1322 either version often turns up on eBay and in second hand record stores. Sealed copies of Tony Orlando & Dawn II are not hard to find. Also try www.gemm.com | |

It Was A Pleasure to Meet Mr. Orlando |
|
I had the fine pleasure of meeting Tony Orlando in New York City. He is a true gentleman, he autographed his book Halfway To Paradise. After giving it to me he said thank you to me, when I felt that I should have said thank you first. I asked him why he said it to me and he said that I will find out after reading the book and I did. I loved the book I laughed and cried while I read it and I could not put it down. I got to meet the person that sang the songs that I
grew up on. God bless him and there should be a lot more people like him. He
never rushed our meeting either like other celebrities did that I met.
When he talks to you he really talks to you and the words came from his big
heart. I will never forget that day and I wish it will happen again. |
