Getting By
I just caught an episode of Getting By with Telma Hopkins at 11:30 am CST on GoodLife TV Network. There was a funny part where Telma's character's son was looking through old records with his girlfriend and he held up TOAD's "He Don't Love You" album and said, "These old relics will be worth a lot some day." LOL!! Great inside joke for those of us who knew Telma from her days with TOAD.

What are you doing sunday
BIG fan of TOAD!!! The first 45 that I ever bought!!! Just a quick question does Tony sing 'What are you doing Sunday' on his current concert tour? My favourite SONG OF ALL TIME. I just heard he will be coming to Canada (Casino Rama - Feb. 15-16, 2002). I hope I get a chance to meet him!

Re:  What are you doing sunday
What are you doing Sunday isn't something Tony sings in concert, but like most entertainers, if the audience demand is there, he may put it in his show.  He has often added songs because the audience requests them during the show. Especially, his hits from the 60's--Halfway to Paradise and Bless You.

Pictures of Tony in Airport in Atlanta in the late 70's or 80's
I am looking for photos of Tony in an airport in Atlanta.  Any web sites where I might be able to find this would also be appreciated.  Thank you.

Re:  Pictures of Tony in Airport in Atlanta in the late 70's or 80's
Christy,

The Friends of TOAD have the largest collection of on-line photos of Tony Orlando, especially those from his years with TOAD, but not the airport photos you are looking for.  I recall some airport photos of Tony in the late 70's being offered for sale on eBay a while back, but don't remember if they were from the Atlanta airport. I know of no other web site that has his photos from the 70's and 80's.

Telma on E!
Telma Hopkins can be seen in clips from "Gimme A Break" on the E True Hollywood Story about Joey Lawrence. These stories are often repeated so check local listings.

What is this song about?
My husband and daughter have a bet about what Tie a Yellow Ribbon Around the Old Oak tree is about. My daughter and I both say it is about a man released from prison. My husband says it is about a man returning from war.  Can anyone tell me what it is about please? He says that the term prison is just a metaphor and not the real situation in the song.  I have checked every site I can think of and you people seem to know what's going on. Please reply to my e-mail directly.
Thanx!

What is this song about?
This is an oft asked question.  The song is about a man released from prison.  Later it was adapted as an anthem for returning soldiers, POWs, hostages, and people who are lost or missing.

LYRICS. . . .
In the song Sweet Gypsy Rose, the second verse starts out with something I just can't seem to make out the words to.  The line right after it is "here she come's a struttin' in her birthday clothes".  DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT THE LINE SAYS RIGHT BEFORE THAT????? HEEELLLLLLPPPPPPP!!!!!
Thanks. . . .

Re:  Lyrics
The verse is:

Oh, I got wind my Jo's been dancing here in New Orleans
In this smoke-filled honky-tonk they call the land of dreams
Oh, here she comes a strutting in her birthday clothes
Say has anybody seen my sweet Gypsy Rose?

Sunday's Show
Thank you Pat for the info.

Today's show was awesome and I got my picture taken with Tony before the show.

I gave him a USA Star pin and he wore it during the show.

Hope he comes back soon

GREAT site & I love TOAD ~
Hello, I stumbled upon this site today, after hearing "CANDIDA" on the radio today, they were doing the top 10 from this time in 1970? I was half asleep, I think it was 1970? anyway, I sure perked up when they played CANDIDA! Wow- What a great song & TOAD was great, I was 9 years old when the show 1st came on in 74, I had such a crush on Tony & I also loved Freddie Prinze!! Those were my 2 major crushes!! So you can imagine how happy I was to see Freddie, on Tony's show. & IF I am remembering correctly, I believe they were on the DINAH show 1 time?? I remember being home sick from school. Lucky me--:)--anyway, I just wanted to say Thank you for a GREAT site & just wanted Tony & the girls to know, IF they read the board here? That they made a 9 year old girl very happy with those beautiful voices & great songs, after I heard CANDIDA today, I am determined to go out tomorrow & buy 1 of their cd's. Do they have a greatest hits?? I used to love " WHO'S IN THE STRAWBERRY PATCH WITH SALLY" I still have that RAGTIME album, where it is , is the question?? & I loved, "HE DON'T LOVE YOU"..ok, you get the drift, I just love them !!! thanks for all the great songs..........Peace, JOYCE HALL-Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Re:  GREAT site & I love TOAD ~
Welcome to the site and thanks for your many compliments.  There are several CDs of TOAD hits on the market.  If your local music store doesn't have one in stock many of the on line music stores like amazon.com or bn.com have them.

Seeing Tony on Sunday
Hi All

My 33rd Anniversary present from my husband is tickets to see Tony on Sunday!!!!!

Westbury, N.Y.

Last time I saw him was when his daughter was born.  I gave a baby gift to him and I got a thank you card from him and his wife.

Does anyone know how old his daughter is now?  Her name was Rose, I think.

Any info will be helpful, can't believe I'm seeing him again!

Thank You All!
Mickey

Mickey, congratulations on your anniversary!  Many of us will be at the Westbury show on Sunday.

To answer your question, his daughter's name is Jenny Rose.  She is now ten years old.
