Bless You!!!!!
Thursday 30-Mar-2000 17:54:42
I would like you to be blessed for taking time for your sister. I have been a fan of yours for years. When I saw your life story I felt you are a saint ! I want the world to know that you are one terrific person. "Bless every movement you make;bless every breath that you take. BLESS YOU FOR THE PERSON YOU ARE. I love you. You were there for everyone you loved and many more. You are a person I could only pray to be like. If just a small part.

I too think it is awesome how Tony was with his sister. The Lord can take a bad situation and use it to someone's good. His sister saved his life  keeping him from drugs and problems in his New York neigborhood  and taught him to genuinely care about everyone  no matter what their problem. Tony would be the first to tell you he isn't a saint though. He has never thought he was bigger than life. I recently had the opportunity of meeting him in Melbourne  Florida for the first time!! There was a handicapped woman backstage  and I got to see first hand how Tony deals with someone with a handicap. It was awesome. He was so comfortable with the woman  and treated her like gold. I was thinking how she proably hadn't met many people in her life who treated her like she really mattered! God will bless him for how he is  but that is just who he is  he doesn't want anything in return. He is very unselfish. Just thought I would share my story about the lady backstage in Melbourne.

While this is second hand information  I know a fan who visited with Tony last year and asked what ever became of Stephanie. Tony said that Stephanie had recently passed away. I think she lived to be about 27.

I think I share the same birthday with Tony (April 3).  Can someone tell me if this is true and what year he was born?  Thanks!

The Beginning

I had the good fortune of working with Tony in 1971. (this conflicts with the bio)I was a professional musician at the time and was working in a club in Baltimore called the "Club Venus". The booking agent for the club was a guy named Bill Bateman  who also did a lot of bookings for the Baltimore Civic Center. He worked with a lot of big names. He aked me if I could come to the club on the 4th of July as a favor to audition some girl singers for a guy from New York. I reluctantly agreed. When I arrived he introduced me to a guy named Tony Orlando. Tony told me that he had a problem...he had a couple of hit records but no back up singers or band. I could go on and on but we auditioned about 9 or 10 singers that day  none of which he picked. I really got sick of playing "It's too Late" by Carol King over and over. Tony referred to me as "fingers" because of my ability to transpose the key in my head. He came back to the club that night to hear my group and thank me for my help.

Lincoln City

We caught the Tony Orlando show up in Lincoln City this weekend.  What a super show!  I saw him many years ago in his Dawn days and he still is the most enthusiastic performer.  I must admit I miss the girls though.  Any chance they will be getting back together?
It was a real trip going through this site.  I'll be sure to check the tour page regularly to see if he'll be back in our area again.  I already made my husband promise to take me the next time he's performing nearby.  He enjoyed the show immensely (although he wishes Telma and Joyce were there too).
Come on back real soon Tony  we love you in Oregon!

Hi Barb and Earl:  I’m so glad you had an opportunity to see Tony in concert. He really is a fantastic performer and always shows his audience a great time. There are many people who agree with you and would love to see a TOAD reunion. They were a wonderful group and it would be great to see them perform together again.

"LET'S SAVE TONY ORLANDO'S HOUSE
Wednesday  8-Mar-2000 23:48:57
The group YO LA TENGO has a song on their new album called "Let's Save Tony Orlando's House". I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet  but it's getting airplay. Those who have heard it on the radio say it is a good song and very "flattering" for Tony.

Is this song played on all radio stations or just the latin speaking ones.  Is it in Spanish or English  I'd really love to hear it.  For a minute there  I thought that Tony was losing his house!!
